Shudder’s HORROR NOIRE Anthology Announces Exciting Cast

Just yesterday we shared the exciting news about Shudder’s upcoming horror anthology Horror Noire. The all-new film is based on the book and subsequent documentary of the same name. Now Deadline reports a detailed list of who will be joining the cast of this anticipated event. 

The Film

The Shudder anthology will feature brand new work from some of the most exciting established and emerging Black talents in entertainment.

Horror Noire will showcase six stories sure to give you the chills. Daddy, Bride Before You, Brand of Evil, The Lake, Sundown and Fugue State are sewn into the two-hour event streaming this October. 

Some of the exciting names joining the project now include Tony Todd, Brandon Mychal Smith, Sean Patrick Thomas, Peter Stormare, Malcolm Barrett, Rachel True, Tone Bell, Lavell Crawford, Nathaniel Logan McIntyre and Lenora Crichlow.

The Segments

Lesley-Ann Brandt and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre will appear in The Lake, written by married writing duo Steven Barnes and Tananarive Due.

Luke James will appear in Daddy as written by Victor LaValle.

Brandon Mychal Smith is in Brand of Evil, with a script by Ezra C. Daniels.

Erica Ash, Peter Stormare, Tone Bell and Lavell Crawford appear in Sundown. The script is by Al Letson. 

Lenora Crichlow and Sean Patrick Thomas will appear in Bride Before You, written by Shernold Edwards

Lastly, Lesley-Ann Barrett, Rachel True and Tony Todd will appear in Fugue State written by Barnes and Due.

The Text

Horror Noire: Blacks in American Horror Films from the 1890s to Present” is by Dr. Robin R. Means Coleman, who now serves as a consultant on the film. The documentary was subsequently produced by Ashlee Blackwell, Phil Nobile Jr. and Kelly Ryan who will also consult.
