This dark and suspenseful Taiwanese thriller is heating up the charts this week. The gripping 2022 international title seemingly appeared out of nowhere and has its eyes on the top spot. The Abandoned (Original title: Cha wu ci xin) is #5 on Netflix’s Top 10 (Films Non-English) Charts. Here is everything we know about this intriguing title.

The Abandoned was directed by Tseng Ying-ting and written by Tseng Ying-ting, Yang Yi-chien, Lin Pin-chun, and Hsu Shih-hui. The film stars Janine Chang, Ethan Juan, Sajee Apiwong, Hsueh Shih-ling, and Chen Wei-min.

This intense title arrived on Netflix on December 31st, 2023, after making the festival rounds for what felt like an eternity. The runtime for the version available on the app is 128 minutes. Which is longer than I like my movies, but I have a good feeling about this one.
