Gareth Edwards Offers Update on New Godzilla Flick
We've all been waiting patiently for some news... hell, any news... to come out of the camp for Legendary Pictures' latest take on Godzilla, and finally some info has come straight from director Gareth Edwards. Read on for the latest!
During a special director's panel with Edwards at the Kapow! Comic Convention in London, he offered the following update for us monster mayhem hungry fans ...
"It's going great, and I'm genuinely excited about it. We're just working really hard with Legendary, who have been fantastic. Thomas Tull has just been an absolute pleasure and nothing like the experience they warn you about when you go to Hollywood. I can't say much other than I hope that we'll have some proper news soon. So you won't have to wait too long at all."
Max Borenstein (The Seventh Son) has been tapped to write the planned remake of Godzilla. Gareth Edwards, the director of the indie sci-fi movie Monsters, is attached to direct the creature feature centered on the giant city-destroying and monster-fighting lizard for Legendary Pictures.
Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing along with Dan Lin, Roy Lee, and Brian Rogers. Warner Bros. will distribute per its deal with Legendary.
David Goyer (The Dark Knight) previously worked on the script.
