Max Martini to Mix it Up in Pacific Rim

Some quick casting news coming in for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming monster mash, Pacific Rim. Yet another actor has signed up for active duty in the creature killin’ department. Read on for details.

According to Variety, Max Martini (Saving Private Ryan, Contact) has signed on to star in the del Toro-directed flick for Legendary Pictures. He joins the previously announced Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and Idris Elba.

Del Toro’s monsters vs. mechas action movie is being executive produced by Callum Greene and will start shooting in Toronto on the Pinewood soundstages from October 31, 2011 until April of 2012.

Pacific Rim is slated for a July 21, 2013 release date from Warner Bros.
