Just when I’d finished washing the taste of the wholly rancid A Nightmare on Elm Street remake from my mouth, our friends at Warner Bros. go and set a home video date for the 2010 retelling of Freddy Krueger’s first stab at Elm Street’s children.
DVD Active is reporting that the remake will be available to own on DVD and Blu-ray on October 5, 2010. The only extra feature on the DVD will be a Freddy Reborn featurette, while Blu-ray owners will get that plus Maniacal Movie Mode, an Alternate Opening, an Alternate Ending, a Deleted Scene, and a digital copy of the film in standard definition.
I’m not surprised by the lack of a director’s commentary here since Platinum Dunes oddly publicized the story of how Samuel Bayer turned the project down several times before finally agreeing to step behind the camera.
