So last night was the LA premiere of George A. Romero’s next entry into his legendary Dead franchise, Survival of the Dead, and of course the Dread Central staff was on hand to take part in the ensuing shambling shenanigans.
The movie went over well and everyone had a great time, but when the master took the stage, the place erupted with a standing ovation! George sat for a few moments and chatted as candidly as possible with fans in true Romero style. Listening to the man, it becomes obvious that either this guy doesn’t know how big of a legend he is, or he just doesn’t care.
During the Q&A he revealed to the audience that he’s in talks with an unnamed video game developer to create a zombie shooter that abides by his rules and that he also has an App of the Dead in the works for iPhone, etc. Good news for people who wanna take the rotting flesh with them.
Speaking of which, there was plenty of rotting flesh on display at the event as fans dressed to the nines in full zombie regalia to pay homage to the man himself. You can dig on some of the images from the evening below in all their iPhone taken fuzzy goodness!
Magnet has released the film here in the US via VOD, XBOX Live, Playstation Network, and Amazon and then you can dig on it in theatres as it begins its limited theatrical run on May 28th.
For more information on the movie check out the official Survival of the Dead Facebook page, and the official Survival of the Dead MySpace page! If you’re on Twitter, you’ll want to follow @OfficialRomero to stay up-to-date on all things Dead.
