Clean Scans of Clash of the Titans Creatures

With the release of Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans getting closer and closer, anticipation of seeing the film’s wondrous beasts up on the big screen (and in 3D) has been growing steadily. Especially to see Medusa! Well … now you can!

Check out the first clean stills of a transforming(!) Medusa as well as some of the other creatures in the film below courtesy of Empire Magazine /

Look for Clash of the Titans to crash into theatres on April 2nd, 2010.

“In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.”

The bare breast thing is likely a studio thing, and not a result of the effects people or Lettrier. I remember seeing a behind the scenes video on the construction of the Hulk from the first movie (I know, sigh…), and ILM talked about actually designing him nude first, then developing the torn pants over top to make him move properly. So likely they designed her first, and some exec probably vetoed the breasts with an excuse like “the MPAA will make us cover them”. But none the less the creatures look amazing, and I am looking forward to this.

They went all out with Medusa. It’s too bad they didn’t have the cojones to feature her bare breasted.

Medusa looks awesome… I’m looking forward to this one big time!

Yuck, Calibos is way fucked! Still wish Medusa was bare breasted like the Harryhausen version though.

  • Floydian Trip

This looks great but I’d feel better if they got rid of the rock n’ roll score.

In stills the basic design is excellent (and this is coming from a serious Harryhausen fan). The thing is they’ll likely all be computer generated… which means no sense of weight or mass and a complete and total lack of fun.

i hate to say this but i prefer the Calibos in the Original over this one…i dont know why they had to do that and not make him more creaturish and less human looking …all i can say is Calibos looks dumb

Are they shooting for R or PG-13? Because if they’re aiming for a PG-13 rating then you know exactly why Medusa is covered up.
