Saw Creators Get Insidious with Paranormal TeamIf Paranormal Activity taught the studios anything, it’s that you can do so much more with so much less and in the process still deliver a quality flick! The team behind the phenomenon Paranormal Activity, director Oren Peli and producers Jason Blum and Steven Schneider, are out to do just that with their new deal with Canada’s Alliance Films. First order of business? Bring Saw creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell’s new project Insidious to life!

According to Variety Peli, Blum, and Schneider have inked a five-picture deal with leading Canadian distributor Alliance Films to finance and produce low-budget genre films starting with Insidious, which Wan will begin lensing in Los Angeles this spring from a script by Whannell.

Alliance will release the films in Canada, the UK, and Spain. CAA, which brokered the deal, will team with Alliance in repping domestic rights.

Though nothing about the film’s storyline has come to light as of yet, Wan did offer the following, “Leigh wrote a fantastic script that took a haunted house movie with all the usual conventions and twisted it on its head.”. Sold. Look for more soon!
