New ‘Resident Evil’ Story May Finally Answer Some Questions [Video]
Suppose you haven’t had the chance to delve into the earlier installments of the Resident Evil series, particularly Resident Evil 2 and 3, released in 1998 and 1999, respectively. In that case, you might not know of the crucial part of the narrative that seems to be missing. These games are intricately connected, with a notable gap in the story revolving around the character of Brad Vickers, a timid pilot, and the formidable Nemesis.
Resident Evil 2 follows series heartthrob Leon Kennedy on his first day on the Raccoon City Police Force. As he arrives, the town is overrun by zombies and other creatures, thanks to the Umbrella Corporation. A sudo pharmaceutical company that has dark dealings in bio-weapon engineering. He meets up with Claire Redfield, sister to the first Resident Evil protagonist Chris Redfield, who is now missing. Claire and Leon join forces to escape the nightmare of Raccoon City.
In Resident Evil 3, we see Jill Valentine, days before the beginning of Resident Evil, as the city is becoming infested with bioweapons, and she is hunted by the powerful and terrifying Nemesis. About halfway through her story, a certain event happens, and then the game picks up after the events of Resident Evil 2.

There was always this burning question of what happened at that time, both before Resident Evil 3 and after Resident Evil 2. Now, thankfully, we have our (unofficial) answer in the form of a mod.
Thanks to long-time classic Resident Evil modder Komizo_lab, who recently announced their upcoming project. Komizo_lab has stated, in regards to Brad Vickers, that Vickers is “the person who got Chris and Jill involved in the mansion incident, and who can be said to be the origin of the Resident Evil series.” Komizo_lab went on to describe the project happening because of “the knowledge I have gained through the development of Resident Evil 2 Overhaul MOD, Resident Evil 3 Overhaul MOD, and Nemesis Scenario MOD.”
While little is known in terms of content or release date, it’s exciting to see something like this happen so many years after the game’s original release.
