The #1 Horror Movie On Prime Video is Finger-Licking Good

The number one horror movie on Prime Video is a sensational, gut-wrenching, and tragic tale of young adult romance and gruesome, gooey cannibalism. Yes, cannibalism. Leave it to Luca Guadagnino (the Suspiria remake), whose Bones and All—adapted from Camille DeAngelis’s novel of the same name—was last year’s most romantic horror movie (while also being one of its best). While it didn’t make a huge splash at the domestic box office, it has no doubt found its audience, emerging as something of a cult hit, especially as a gateway horror entry for young adults craving a little YA love alongside their chopped liver.

The synopsis, per Prime Video, reads: In a world that cannot abide who they truly are, a young woman who is learning how to survive on the margins of society and an intense, disenfranchised drifter embark upon a road trip, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world.

Taylor Russell (incredible in the Escape Room series of films) stars as Maren Yearly, a young girl living in Maryland with unfortunate cannibalistic predilections. After her father abandons her, she hits the road, eventually meeting up with Timothée Chalamet’s Lee, a young man whose eating habits parallel her own. Horror with heart, Bones and All might not pack the scares audiences are expecting (though its final act is plenty terrifying), yet there is enough gruesome cannibalism to firmly qualify as horror, even if it threatens to break hearts more than scare.
