Eli Roth’s adaptation of the popular video game Borderlands with Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart will shoot this year. And today we hear Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War) has snagged the role of Tiny Tina.
Roth said in a statement: “Ariana is a spectacular new talent in cinema. She has already worked with many of my close collaborators and everyone raves about her. She blew us all away in her audition, and I cannot wait to see her bring the wild, insane and unpredictable Tiny Tina to the big screen. She’s going to blow up onscreen like one of Tina’s grenades.”
Tiny Tina is a teenage explosives expert. Hyperion used her parents as guinea pigs in genetic experiments, resulting in their deaths. Once free of Hyperion, Tina vows revenge on the man who sold her family, Flesh-Stick. Borderlands 2 introduced Tiny Tina who also appeared in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3.
Eli Roth (Cabin Fever) will helm this adaptation of the bestselling video game from a screenplay by Emmy-winner Craig Mazin (Chernobyl). Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and also Erik Feig produce. Randy Pitchford and Strauss Zelnick are executive producers.
Blanchett stars as the legendary thief, Lilith. Kevin Hart co-stars as super-soldier Roland, Jack Black voices Claptrap, and Jamie Lee Curtis plays Tannis.
