Frank Grillo Teases Return in New THE PURGE Movie

It looks like The Purge creator James DeMonaco might make The Purge 6. At least according to The Purge: Anarchy and The Purge: Election Year star Frank Grillo.

Grillo tells Collider: “We are talking, [DeMonaco] and I, another Purge movie. He reached out to me not too long ago and Sébastian [K. Lemercier], the producer and they’re like, ‘What do you think?’ and I’m like, ‘What do you think?’ and they’re like, ‘We talked to Universal and we’ll see Leo Barnes in the [next] Purge if we can come up with something great.’ I said, ‘I’m in. I’ll do it in a heartbeat.’

The franchise’s “final” movie The Forever Purge is all set to hit in July. The movie is said to take place sometime after the events of The Purge: Election Year.

It will center on Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta), who find solace at a Texan ranch, having fled a drug cartel in Mexico. Things go awry when a group of outsiders decides to keep purging beyond the allotted time.

Everardo Gout (Mars) directs the final entry from a screenplay written and co-produced by creator James DeMonaco. Josh Lucas stars along with Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Leven Rambin, Will Patton, and Cassidy Freeman.

Gout tells Total Film: “It’s an amazing story of Latinos and Americans coming together to overcome despair and evil[James DeMonaco said] I want my intentions to be crystal clear on what I think about violence and what’s going on in the world.’ That’s what he told me. It’s dystopian, but he’s trying to get us to look in the mirror. It makes you think, ‘Sh-t, if I get pushed into a corner, would I do the same?’ Once you open that door, how do you close it again?”
