Vin Diesel’s BLOODSHOT Hits VOD Next Week

Sony unleashed David Wilson’s Bloodshot with Vin Diesel into theaters last weekend. And today we hear the movie will release the flick digitally months early on March 24th.
Variety reports this is due to theater closures nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tom Rothman, chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, said the studio still supports keeping an exclusive window for theaters prior to releasing titles via home entertainment: “Sony Pictures is firmly committed to theatrical exhibition and we support windowing,” Rothman said. “This is a unique and exceedingly rare circumstance where theaters have been required to close nationwide for the greater good and ‘Bloodshot’ is abruptly unavailable in any medium. Audiences will now have the chance to own ‘Bloodshot’ right away and see it at home, where we are all spending more time. We are confident that — like other businesses hit hard by the virus — movie theaters will bounce back strongly, and we will be there to support them.”

It’s rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, some suggestive material, and language.
Vin Diesel stars as Raymond Garrison / Bloodshot with Sam Heughan as Jimmy Dalton, Toby Kebbell as Axe, Guy Pearce as Dr. Emil Harting, Lamorne Morris as Wilfred Wigans, Talulah Riley as Gina DeCarlo, Alex Hernandez as Tibbs, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Nick Baris.
David Wilson directs Bloodshot from a screenplay written by Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island) and Eric Heisserer (Arrival) based on the character created by Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin, and Bob Layton. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Jaffe, Dinesh Shamdasani, and Vin Diesel produce.
