Netflix Will Redevelop LOCKE AND KEY From the Ground Up?

It was only earlier this week that we shared the rumor that Netflix was looking to pick up Joe Hill’s Locke & Key TV series after Hulu dumped it earlier this year. And today we have a very strange update on the deal.

Yes, the streaming giant is near a series-order deal for the property, THR reports. But there is a catch… Netflix will redevelop the series with an entirely new cast.

Evidently, Netflix has kept showrunner Carlton Cuse but he will redevelop the series from the ground up, along with Joe Hill.

Not only that but the Hulu pilot’s director, Andy Muschietti will be replaced. Muschietti will still be credited as an executive producer on the Netflix series, but he is too busy to continue on as the director with shooting on with IT: Chapter 2 beginning this summer.

Netflix has not commented on any of this yet as deals are not finalized.
