Spoof Video Brings The Ring into the Social Media Age

It’s been over ten years since The Ring franchise last crawled its way into American theaters, and a whole lot has changed since then. For starters, VHS tapes are more obsolete than they even were back then, so one would have to assume that Samara has by now found a new way to enter our world.
And thanks to things like social media and smart phones, she’s got more potential portals than ever before.
In this hilarious spoof video, titled The Ring: 2016 Edition, comedian Mashaka (aka GeeksOutside) updates the iconic J-horror film for the modern age, poking fun at the general concept for the franchise while at the same time working in some relevant social commentary about our collective addiction to the screen.
