Remember the day when witches were ugly wart-covered green chicks that hairpins would fly off of when they ran? Silly stereotypes for sure, but man, they were fun. In reality witches, or Wiccans, are peaceful folks who are just as normal as you or I.

Many of us here at Dread Central are big fans of Thomas Dekker ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", Laid to Rest) and also Kevin Williamson so the news of the two of them working together on a project made our day!

Thanks to IFC Films, we finally have the official trailer debut for Gregg Araki's "playfully perverse, refreshingly rude gonzo teen fantasy" Kaboom just ahead of its simultaneous U.S. premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and on-demand airings beginning on January 21st courtesy of Sundance Selects. Can't make it to Utah this year for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival? Well, thanks to Sundance Selects, the theatrical and video-on-demand film label, five films being screened at the fest will simultaneously be available nationwide, on demand, on most major cable systems. Two seems to qualify as genre films, but the others sound worthy of a bit of attention as well.

It was way back in May when IFC Midnight acquired writer/director Antoine Blossier's debut feature Proie (Prey), and finally, come December we'll be able to watch it either On Demand (starting on the 1st) or in selected theatres (as of the 3rd).
