From the Press Release
The Orchard, a pioneering independent music, film, and video distribution company and top-ranked MCN, has entered into a long-term marketing and branding relationship with horror film web publisher, ShockTillYouDrop.com (a division of CraveOnline and Evolve Media). The multi-year global pact will see the companies combine their resources to acquire and market contemporary horror films through all home video channels including digital and DVD, beginning with the launch of the Shock Till You Drop YouTube channel. The Shock channel will feature two new hosted programs, one featuring host/comic Erin Darling.

The new partnership announces its first horror film acquisitions. Missionary, directed by Anthony DiBlasi (Dread), starring Dawn Olivieri, Mitch Ryan, and Kip Pardue; The Complex, a new film from Hideo Nakata, the director of Ringu, The Ring Two, and other critically-acclaimed and award-winning films; and two new thrillers from Continental Media – Solo, starring Annie Clark, Daniel Kash, and Richard Clarkin, and Bela Kiss, based on the famous true story of a Hungarian serial killer.

These Shock-bannered films will be made available for sale and for rental across all major online video services including iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, X-box, Playstation, Vudu, and Netflix as well as select films through Cable VOD and on DVD starting October 2013.

Solo will lead the partnership’s new releases with a scheduled October 22nd release date.

The Shock Till You Drop YouTube channel offers the most current and popular content in horror film and media, including reviews and commentary on the latest theatrical releases and television programs, and is now available through The Orchard’s Multi Channel Network, ranked #5 in the world by unique viewers (ComScore). Shock Till You Drop is a top online destination for all things horror, including news, sneak previews, and reviews for its community of horror fanatics, and CraveOnline Media currently attracts over 25 million unique viewers monthly on its male oriented websites. The Orchard and Shock Till You Drop join their audiences through certified YouTube expertise, a shared affinity for the genre, and proven marketing success.

Shock’s Managing Editor, Ryan Turek, says: “I’m thrilled about this partnership and the launch of the YouTube channel. This is a natural evolution for ShockTillYouDrop.com, which has been on the frontline of horror. We’ve always got our eye on unreleased films from talented filmmakers, and to now be able to give these films a home is exciting.”

The Shock Till You Drop YouTube channel is part of The Orchard’s owned and operated channel network. Each channel will be available through outlets including Hulu and Xbox and will focus on categories as diverse as action sports, children’s, and metal music.
