This Controversial Thriller Starring Scream King Kyle Gallner is Now Free to Stream

Kyle Gallner is a contemporary Scream King. Really, he has been for a while now. Genre fans might remember a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in Wes Craven’s Red Eye, followed by more central roles in The Haunting in Connecticut (severely underrated), Jennifer’s Body, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Gallner would expand into bigger fare, though, lately, he’s settled into a nice, indie horror groove.

For every Scream or Smile, there’s something akin to The Passenger (so good) and Mother, May I. While the former has been available to stream for free for a beat, the latter is now available to watch on Tubi. Don’t ask your mother—just watch it.

Per Tubi: A young man is forced into a nightmarish game of therapy when his fiancée starts behaving like his recently deceased mother.

In our review of Mother, May I out of 2022’s Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Sharai Bohannon remarked the movie is, “An exploration of mommy issues set to simmer on the front burner. The real horror of the movie stems from relationship dynamics and stifled emotions.” It’s another win for Gallner who has been absolutely everywhere in the horror scene lately.

Presently, Gallner is poised to return for the forthcoming Smile 2 and indie production Strange Darling set to be released in August of this year. I’ll never scoff at more Kyle Gallner. In the meantime, make it your duty to check out some of the Gallner fare you might have missed, starting with Mother, May I.

Fans online have been loving it. Check out what they’ve been saying about this hidden gem below:
