Cool New Horror Collectibles You Need!
Halloween is just around the corner, and chances are you’re going to wake up one morning in the not too distant future and say to yourself, “I need more cool horror collectibles or all my friends will think I’m lame!”
Have no fear; the last thing anyone here at Dread Central wants is lame readers, so here are some ideas to make yourself just a bit cooler…
Mezco has really stepped up to the plate in the last few years to give us some truly interesting and original horror collectibles, not just churning out the same action figure over and over with new accoutrements. The stylized rotocast of Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a damn fine example. This isn’t just some normal looking action figure, this big bastard is 9” tall and comes with his trusty chainsaw, a bucket of gore, a bone handle knife, bloody mallet and has a removable apron for all you perverts out there! Click here to get this badass through Evilshop!
Mezco are also the guys responsible for the alarmingly cuddly plush figures of Freddy, Jason and Leatherface, with Series 2 due in stores this October. This time out you’ll get Freddy in his tux from Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors, sackhead Jason from Friday the 13th Part 2, and a well-dressed Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Click here to get all three and finally have some dolls you can cuddle without feeling like a sissy!
Gentle Giant are also kicking their contributions into the hands of collectors with their first series of statues, the most evil of which has to be Freddy Krueger, surrounded by broken and damaged toys, looking like he’s just waiting for you to close your eyes before he pounces. I like this one a lot because it’s an original creation, not taken from any of the movies, and it looks amazing, as does all of Gentle Giants’ output. You can click here to make this freaky statue a part of your décor now!
Finally, something no Friday fan should be without: a 35” high, 23” wide tombstone for the infamous masked killer, Jason Voorhees! Again, not something from any particular movie, just a fucking cool collectible that’s going to look great among the rest of your Halloween decorations. If you’re one of those people who actually “decorate” for Halloween; personally it’s always Halloween in the Butane household! Get the Jason Voorhees tombstone by clicking here!
Expect to see more articles spotlighting cool collectibles that you should know about throughout the month of October!

September 20-26, 2008, is certain to go down in history as one of the bleakest weeks our country has faced. Between the proposed $700 billion bailout of Wall Street and the largest bank failure heretofore seen, there wasn't much to be happy about over the past seven days. Some might even say that, like genre films, it's the stuff of nightmares.
