Two more of the After Dark Original films made in conjunction with the Syfy Channel - Scream of the Banshee and The Task - have officially been announced for a Stateside home video release, and we've the scoop for you to dig on!

On March 26th the 200th Syfy channel original film, Scream of the Banshee, will be making its broadcast debut and to get you guys pumped for this momentous occasion, Syfy has cranked out the first TV spot that's brimming with lots of cool stuff. Dig it!

Let’s face it… Special Makeup FX are the backbone of the horror genre. As engaging as storylines can be, as believable as acting is, and as competent as directing and cinematography are, fans pay money and put their asses in those seats or buy those DVDs and Blu-rays because they love the creatures.

Hopefully you've all marked your calendars for Saturday, March 26, at 9PM (ET/PT) to check out the After Dark Original Scream of the Banshee, which debuts as Syfy's 200th Saturday Original Movie. We told you all the way back in the beginning of February that Steven C. Miller's After Dark Original, Scream of the Banshee,e would be making its world premiere on Syfy, who co-produced, on Saturday, March 26th, at 9/8 Central with a replay four hours later. But that's not the only thing cool about this debut! From the Press Release

While the quality of the flicks themselves may be questionable in many cases, it’s nevertheless true that a cool concept such as the annual After Dark Horrorfest leaves UK genre fans wanting for some similar horror action on these shores without resigning to wait for the (eventual) DVD releases.

Last weekend the After Dark Originals haunted theatres. This weekend one of those After Dark flicks, Husk, premieres on Syfy. One of the three Originals pulled from the fest, Area 51, has been announced as premiering on Syfy February 26th. Now we can tell you that Syfy has slotted another pulled title, Scream of the Banshee, for late March.

So far, Steven C. Miller’s Scream of the Banshee has already turned some heads with an admittedly fascinating poster. Now the director chats with us to shed some more light on his upcoming After Dark Originals contribution.

Looks like only six of the eight After Dark Originals announced thus far will be headed to theatres later this month. This is totally fine by us because why not spread the red out a little bit?
