The first review for Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare on Elm Street redux is now alive and kicking. Good? Bad? It's both a little and a lot of both, if that makes any sense. Then again, in Krueger land ... does anything really make sense?

Michael Puente from Chicago-based Public Radio station KBEZ reported in from the Gary, Indiana, set of the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, and it looks like the project has generated mixed feelings among the townsfolk.

The casting call went out today to be an extra in Platinum Dunes' redux of the Wes Craven classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street and if you're in the Chi-town area you could very well fall victim to a set of really sharp razor claws!

I have no idea what gives Platinum Dunes the faux confidence to think they can do Wes Craven one better with their upcoming (and woefully unnecessary) redux of A Nightmare on Elm Street, but it's on its way to movie theaters faster than you can say “Friday the 13th sucked!”

Chicago is known for many things ... The Cubs, The Bulls, and El Famous Burrito: Home of the Football-sized Burrito. Well, okay that last one is only famous to me -- I had no idea what to do with that huge damned thing! Come May 5th the Windy City will have two more claims to fame when Platinum Dunes begins production there of Sam Bayer's remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.
