Much like this week’s release of Mirrors, which was based on the Korean film Into the Mirror, Alexandre Aja is insisting that his Piranha 3D remake will not really be a remake at all, but rather a completely original film which just happens to share the same title as Joe Dante’s original.

Hellraiser Remake Writers Official

Though it’s now old news that Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will be doing a page one rewrite on the script for the Hellraiser remake, which is still set to be directed by Inside team Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, Variety finally got around to officially announcing it today.

At last year’s first annual Fear Fest, Patick Melton, Marcus Dunstan and John Gulager were all in attendance to discuss their work on Feast, but they also showed the crowd the trailer for Midnight Man, a new film the trio were working on getting off the ground.
