Focus Features has officially announced the opening day schedule for the highly anticipated vampire thriller Thirst, directed by award-winning auteur Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance). Thirst will open in NY, LA, and San Francisco on July 31st.

Taking a page out of Korea's book, Focus Features released the official domestic one-sheet for Park Chan-wook's vampire opus Thirst, which like the Korean poster is void of most of the original poster's naughty bits!

Park Chan-wook’s Thirst was a killer at the Cannes Film Festival so it’s no surprise that its North American distributor, Focus Features, is gearing up to get the bloodsucker opus into theaters while the buzz is still baking.

Hollywood just can't get enough of acclaimed Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook's output. Three of his projects are in various stages of remake development, and it's starting to look like his vampire priest saga Thirst is going to join them.

Park Chan-Wook fans who have been waiting for the full trailer for his latest vampire flick, Thirst, rejoice! It's now online and it's looking pretty damned sweet!

Apparently Koreans don't like it when you mess with their priests. As soon as the first teaser poster for Thirst became public, it was banned for being "too provocative and disturbing."

This may seem like sacrilege to some, but I am not a fan of Oldboy. The movie had its moments, but overall it didn't do anything for me. That being said, Park Chan-Wook’s newest vampire film, Thirst, more than has my attention.

There’s not a helluva lot to see, but a recent Korean TV report about Park Chan-Wook’s long-anticipated vampire film Thirst showcased the first footage from the film, which you can now see below. Though the film isn’t scheduled for release until May of 2009, hopefully there’s a lot more we’ll be able to share with you guys on it soon!

The Japanese paper Star got a really nice pic of Korean star Song Kang-ho as the doomed priest in Park Chan-Wook’s upcoming vampire film Thirst, which is getting ready to go into post-production.

Now this is the kind of news I like to end the week with! Variety reports this morning that Universal and Focus Features have jumped on board Old Boy director Chan-Wook Park’s Thirst, his vampire film that’s currently in production, putting in money and adding themselves as co-producers on the film.

A few days back some poster art for Chan-wook Park's first horror film, Thirst, showed up all over the place thanks to someone snapping a pic of it at Cannes, but I've been waiting for even a slightly better looking image of the damn thing. To date, I've had no luck so I guess we'll just have to use the one that's everywhere for now.

Looks like Oldboy and Lady Vengeance director Park Chan-Wook’s search for a leading lady for his upcoming vampire film, now being called Thirst has finally come to an end…
