It took a few days, but finally confirmation has come that Open Road has acquired U.S. distribution rights to The Grey, Joe Carnahan's thriller about a group of oil drillers whose plane crashes in Alaska, smack in the middle of the hunting grounds of a territorial rogue wolf pack.
Earlier today a 30-minute reel of Joe Carnahan's survival film The Grey was shown to distributors, and at least a half dozen of them are engaged in a bidding war. Complicating matters even further is the fact that the filmmakers are insisting The Grey be released later this year
And release dates just keep looming further and further into the future as Open Road Films has announced a March 29, 2013 (Easter weekend) timetable for the big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's The Host.
The new feature film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's The Host has found itself a home! There are no brooding vamps to be found in this one, but we wouldn't be surprise if something ends up sparkling.
