Bunker Director Pits Gladiators Vs. Werewolves

Bunker director pits Gladiators Vs. WerewolvesThere isn’t a lot of meat to this story since the motion picture in question has only just been announced and details are all but non-existent, but whenever someone decides to make a movie about gladiators in the Roman Colosseum being forced to battle werewolves, that gets a headline in my book.

Directly and to the point titled Gladiators vs. Werewolves, this production from Britain’s AV Pictures, the company also behind the upcoming Lesbian Vampire Killers, is to be the latest from Rob Green, he of a World War 2 horror film titled The Bunker (pictured) that I’ve never seen but heard was pretty good. Here’s the statement from AV Pictures website:

Due to commence shooting early in 2009 from Rob Green, director of the critically-acclaimed The Bunker, comes Gladiators vs. Werewolves, an explosive battle between the deadliest trained fighters of ancient Rome and a ferocious tribe of savage werewolves.

And that really is all there is to report on at this time. You can be guaranteed more information as it becomes available.

The Bunker was quite good. Jason Flemyng is one of those supporting actors that push a movie from “maybe I’ll watch” to “sold!”. Deathwatch was released around the same time, and that also was worth watching.
Gladiators vs. Werewolves? Yup, that’s awesome.
Bummer about the Dog Soldiers sequel, Butane. I thought it in the works. Guess I missed the memo.

Maybe Green’s moving on to this since it looks like we’ll never see Dog Soldiers: Fresh Meat?
