Though he’s gone on to direct blockbusters and has several more in the works, we’ll always love Shane Black for his “big pussy” portrayal of Hawkins in 1987’s Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle Predator. Now Black has come full circle.
THR reports that Black, the venerable screenwriter behind Lethal Weapon and writer-director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3, is now attached to helm a reboot of Predator for 20th Century Fox.
Black will write the treatment for the project and then will hand over scripting duties to Fred Dekker, his university chum with whom he wrote 1987’s classic Monster Squad. Black will oversee the writing and is also attached to direct. Will the infamous joke return somehow? You know the one…
