From the Press Release
Anchor Bay Entertainment and RADiUS-TWC are proud to announce the home entertainment release of Jeremy Saulnier’s highly praised sophomore effort, BLUE RUIN.

The film world premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, where it took home the esteemed FIPRESCI prize. Audiences can own the revenge thriller on DVD and Blu-ray on July 22, 2014.

BLUE RUIN is a classic American revenge story, following a mysterious outsider whose quiet life is turned upside down when he returns to his childhood home, determined to carry out an act of vengeance. His inexperience as an assassin lands him in a brutal fight to protect his estranged family in this critically-acclaimed new thriller by director Jeremy Saulnier (MURDER PARTY). Starring Macon Blair, Devin Ratray, Amy Hargreaves, and Eve Plumb.

RADiUS-TWC released the suspenseful film theatrically on April 25, 2014, following a successful run on the festival circuit. In his review for Indiewire, Gabe Toro declares BLUE RUIN as “easily the most suspenseful American film of the year, a thriller that feels like lightning across a quiet night sky; sudden, terrifying, and excitingly singular.” A.A. Dowd of AV Club raves, “Revenge thrillers are rarely so resonant, flavorful, or electrifying.” Eric Lavallée of IONCINEMA asserts that the film is “truly one of the most frantic, viscerally gory portraits albeit, deliriously pleasurable mayhem-filled noir comedy items to be launched on the festival circuit this year.” According to David Denby of The New Yorker, writer-director “Saulnier spills a lot of blood, but he’s an extraordinarily responsible and appealing craftsman.”

BLUE RUIN has a running time of 90 minutes and is rated R for strong bloody violence and language. Special DVD and Blu-ray features include:

– Feature Commentary with Writer/Director Jeremy Saulnier and Star Macon Blair
– No Regrets: The Making of Blue Ruin
– Deleted Scenes
– Camera Test
