Apes Get Armed in a New Behind-the-Scenes Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Image We’re just a few months away from the release of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which means that a whole lot of goodies will soon be coming our way to gear us up for the epic simian smackdown. Speaking of which, we’ve got one of those goodies for ya today so read on!

Empire has just scored an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, which peels back the curtain and shows the motion-capture magic in action. Toby Kebbell’s alpha ape, Koba, rip-roars his way through a scene at the Ape Village in the awesome shot. Dig it!

Look for the film in theatres on July 11th, 2014. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-Mcphee, Enrique Muriciano, and Kirk Acevedo.

Synopsis
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species
