Now that the rights to the Terminator franchise are no longer an issue, it’s time for everyone to get back to business and hopefully bring us The Terminator sequel we’ve all been wanting since the second installment.

According to Deadline, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures have set Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine 3D) to script the next installment of The Terminator franchise.

Will Arnold Schwarzenegger be back? It’s a good bet! Will the Terminators in this movie actually spend some time terminating people and not rounding them up for some half-baked reason to add needless exposition in between the nonsensical action set pieces? We can only hope.
