Tobin Bell in for Bump

Bump #1 from Frangoria Comics!Robert Kurtzman’s Precinct 13 just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Today it was announced that the former Fangoria Comics title Bump is making its way to the big screen and a star has been cast!

That star’s name is Tobin Bell, best known to horror freaks the world over as Jigsaw from the Saw franchise. Bell has signed on to play Sherriff Lundy in the film, as well as produce alongside director Robert Kurtzman. “Sheriff Lundy has been enforcing local law for many years in this rural community.” Bell said in a press release, “This is HIS turf. He’s seen a lot in his day, but never anything like the terrifying, formidable foe he’s up against here. Seasoned, tough-as-nails, determined to prevail, this sheriff’s not the kind of guy you fuck with.”

Yeah, I’d say Bell’s a good choice for that role; all he has to say is “Hello Johnny Butane” and I’ve already peed myself. Just a little.

A trade of the four-issue Bump comic is on its way this fall, but no set date has been laid out for the film to rolle. Kurtzman just finished directring To Live and Die (read about it here) and his Precinct 13 effects company will be working on the Frank Miller adaptation The Spirit, working with the same crew who made the Horror Chronicles films. When does the guy get to rest?

Keep it here for more on all of Precinct 13’s upcoming goodies!
