Before we get into how you’re gonna be able to take part, here is the press release…

Renowned horror news site Dread Central and television innovator theStream.tv will be joining forces for a new joint venture web-based television show called “Dread Central Live.” The half-hour weekly show, hosted by veteran genre journalist Staci Layne Wilson, horror star/filmmaker Vanessa Gomez, and “Goth Queen” writer/producer “Jill Kill,” premieres Monday, February 3rd, at 7pm ET / 4pm PT at theStream.tv. The announcement was made today by Steve Barton, Editor-In-Chief and Co-Founder of DreadCentral.com, and SusanWrenn, CEO of theStream.tv. The show was created for and distributed exclusively on leading video-sharing platform Dailymotion.

“’Dread Central Live’ is the natural evolution of DreadCentral.com,” noted Barton. “Utilizing the latest technology and interactivity, we can give our fans another resource to stay current with the horror community.”

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Dread Central, one of the most respected genre media outlets,” noted Wrenn. “’Dread Central Live’ will allow fans to not only keep up with all things horror, but also help shape the content of the show in real time.”

Dread Central Live is a live, half-hour news/information/talk show dedicated to covering all aspects of the horror genre. Hosts Wilson (a respected writer/producer herself) and Gomez will guide viewers on a weekly journey of keeping current in horror via news updates, interviews with genre and mainstream stars and filmmakers, exclusive clips, trailer premieres. as well as exclusive coverage from set visits for horror feature films and TV shows in production. During the interview portions of the show, fans can submit questions via Twitter and Facebook, moderated by “Jill Kill” and asked on-air by Staci and Vanessa in real time. DC Editor-in-Chief Barton will also make appearances occasionally, giving his unique “bat’s eye view” perspective on the genre that has fueled a lifelong obsession with the macabre!

Dread Central has ALWAYS been brought to you by fans for fans. We consider you guys our peers, and since we don’t have – and have never had – a parent company behind us, we like to think that the site and everything it does belongs to you. That being said… starting RIGHT NOW, tweet us @DreadCentral with your questions and comments, and we’ll be answering everything that we can get to in REAL TIME. In addition, there will be a steady Twitter crawl at the bottom of the screen in which your remarks will appear.

How does all this magic happen? Just be sure to use the Hashtag #DreadLive when you tweet! You can also leave your questions and comments on the official Dread Central Facebook page.

That’s it! See you live and direct every Monday starting on February 3rd! For more information check out Dread Central Live on Daily Motion!

Steve Barton

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  • GODFLESH69

Sounds like Horror’s version of The View,I’m down!

  • MonsterMash

If I could make one suggestion- perhaps you could upload episodes for future viewing like you have your podcast directory, maybe you could have an episode directory to watch past episodes whenever you want? I’ll tune in a couple times to at least see what its all about. It’s a killer set and the hosts look excited.

    • Debi Moore

All the segments will be available after their live airing – no worries!

  • Mr. Gray

Wow, congrats, you guys! Looking forward to it!

  • CrimsonKing82

    Wait…What…Holy shit….THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

  • Rottenjesus

Constrangulations! Can’t wait to see what these lovely ghouls impart on us, the unholy faithful, each and every Moanday night!

  • kiddcapone

Congrats and good luck, I hope this thing takes off, you guys deserve all the success in the world…

    One question, why Monday nights?

    • Uncle Creepy

That’s the night and the time slot the gave us. Like I said, gotta take time to prove ourselves and find our footing. There’s lots to do and honestly from our standpoint, the whole endeavor is kinda scary! LOL

      • kiddcapone

Well you guys have my support, I’ll try my best to tune in…Mondays at 7 are tough since I don’t get home from work until 5:30 and it’s usually dinner / Henry Hugglemonster time, but we’ll see how it goes…

        • Uncle Creepy

Thanks man. There will be replays so you wont miss it.

  • Gus Bjork

Congratulations and good for you in expanding your brand! I’m looking forward to it.

  • PelusaMG

Yep! As you say, this is a very natural evolution for the site. I am excited for you all and surprised it has taken you this long to do this. Be patient with this new project. Let the audience grow, let the presenters find their feet. Wishing you guys all the very best :D

  • Cinemascribe

My guess is that this is going to turn out to be a natural fit for you folks. Just listening to any DFF is indication enough that moving into a more visual medium is an obvious next step in your evolution. I’ll be tuning in. Congrats on taking these steps forward and best of luck. I have no doubt you’re gonna knock it right the f**k out of the park!
(In best Burgess Meredith growl): “You’re gonna eat lightning, you’re gonna crap thunder!”

Extra kudos, by the way, on inviting Staci Layne Wilson to accompany you on this journey as the host. I’ve been reading her work on Horror.com for some time now and I’m a fan. Even if I don’t always agree with her opinion, I’d absoluutely agree that she’s one of the best talents at work in the field of horror journalism. Smart move asking her to come on board. Thinking like this is why DC is always one step ahead of the rest.

    • Debi Moore

Having Staci on this project was a no-brainer. She’s truly paid her dues, and few people working in the industry have as much knowledge or as eclectic a background as she does. And Vanessa? Well, our little Gore Whore is quite the firecracker. Don’t know Jill very well yet, but she already seems to be fitting in perfectly. With UC acting as navigator, there’s no telling what bizarre roads we’re likely to travel down! Bring your rain gear! LOL

  • LifeMi

Congrats guys! Its great to see that all the hard work you guys have put into this site is paying off like this! So once again, congrats and long live Dread Central!

    • Uncle Creepy

      Thank YOU.

  • Intheend

I’m so there! Congrats Steve and Dread Central! I have been following you since “THC” days. Over the years
you guys have done an amazing job at making DC THE premier site for everything horror
related. I am honored to be on this journey and watching you take DC to the next level. I’m stoked!!
    Rock On!!

    • Uncle Creepy

Thanks! Temper your expectations for now as it’s not gonna be the greatest thing since sliced bread at first, but we’ll do our best to get there!

  • aliensharkboy

    Fuckin’ A!

  • Screamz

Thought I’d never say this, but I’m actually looking forward to the weekend being over. Cannot wait to check this out. Congratulations guys. This is just fucking awesome…

    • Uncle Creepy

Thanks man! It’s gonna take a while for us to find our footing but we’ll do our best!

    • Debi Moore

We couldn’t be more excited either! And it’s all thanks to guys and gals like you who’ve stuck by us since the very beginning. We hope to do you all proud.

  • ChaosWeaver

This sounds incredible. I cannot wait for this, the ability to host shows online can unlock a lot of potential in the DC brand. I have no doubt you guys can knock this out of the park!

    • Uncle Creepy

Thanks man. We’re gonna try. Baby steps first.
