The term “forever hot” applies to very few women. Sigourney Weaver is one of them, and any time she gets involved in a sci-fi or horror film, we are all ears… amongst other things. Next up…
THR is reporting that Weaver has joined the cast of Neill Blomkamp’s newest sci-fi movie, Chappie, just as production gets under way in Johannesburg, South Africa. She joins the previously announced Hugh Jackman.
Sony Pictures Entertainment and MRC are reuniting with Blomkamp for Chappie, which tells of a robot, voiced by Blomkamp regular Sharlto Copley (District 9, Elysium), who gets stolen by two gangsters who plan to use him for their criminal purposes. Jose Pablo Cantillo and experimental South African rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser co-star. Blomkamp will direct the script he wrote with Terri Tatchell and will also produce the film with Simon Kinberg.
Look for lots more soon, and for now expect to see the finished product in March, 2015.
