Syfy is broadcasting the weather this weekend, and it’s a 100% chance of Snowmageddon. Yes, the Syfy supernatural disaster movie with the title inspired by media news outlets’ sensationalistic winter headlines from two years ago storms the airwaves this Saturday night, and Syfy has posted two clips from the movie to whet your appetite for destruction.

Sheldon Wilson (Shallow Ground, Mothman) directs. Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”), Magda Apanowicz (“Caprica”), and David Cubitt (“Medium”) try to survive the snowy onslaught of a magical snow globe’s frozen apocalypse this Saturday night on Syfy at 9/8 Central.

When the Miller family discovers a mysterious gift outside their home on Christmas Eve, they could never imagine it would contain the power to doom their idyllic mountain community. The gift contains a snow globe with a perfect reflection of their own town inside. When they shake it, snow even begins to fall – whatever happens inside the snow globe happens to their town for real. But when buttons on the snow globe unleash a series of terrible disasters on the town, the family must band together and find a way to destroy it – before it’s too late.

Syfy has posted two clips from Snowmageddon, and funny enough, neither clip really involves snow. More like Icemageddon. In the first clip we get to see humongous hailstones blast the small town. I honestly cannot fathom why they picked the second clip since it’s just a minute of people in the aftermath of the previous clip’s ice bombardment discussing how to help someone who’s injured and trapped in a bus from being electrocuted by a downed electrical pole. Electrogeddon!
