A handful of different horror movies have been honored with 8-bit video games over the years, including Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
But what would some other classic horror flicks look like, if given the 8-bit treatment? That’s a question fans have been taking it upon themselves to answer in recent years, as the popularity of 8-bit art is on the rise.
The latest – and quite frankly best – example of this type of art has just come our way courtesy of the YouTube channel CineFix, who turned The Shining into its very own 8-bit video game. While most artists whip up simple images to show off what games such as this one would look like, CineFix went above and beyond and actually put together an entire video – which serves as a walk-through of this faux NES game.
All work and no play makes you a dull person, so stop whatever you’re doing and take a few minutes to check out the brilliant video below!
