I just had a realization.

I'm hedging my bets that the trailer will probably debut with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows based on Noomi Rapace also staring in that film. The fact she's been mentioned in the trailers by name (though having no previous American credits) makes me think that SH2 will be the trailer's debut.

If not, I'd next place my bet on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on that fans of the original will turn out to see if Fincher pulled a Van Sant and just did a shot by shot remake or did something different and interesting.

And if none of those pan out....uhhh I guess Underworld: Awakening as it's also in the science-fiction/horror genre a bit. And it's the first major (new) 3D release of next year in both regular and IMAX. Highly doubt the trailer for Prometheus will debut before Beauty and the Beast.

I'm going to hold off on the trailer until I see it in the theater or online at Apple/Yahoo. All 'leaked' trailers I've seen look poor and just spoil the joy and surprise.

I'll agree with that. Sadly I'll go one step further and complain that a lot of modern trailers show you too much.

I wish directors would shoot seperate trailer footage more often.
