Fringe's John Noble Rides Into Sleepy HollowThe new series “Sleepy Hollow” premiered this past Monday night to huge numbers on Fox, 10 million viewers witnessing what I personally found to be an incredibly fun debut. And it’s about to get even better.

Deadline reports that “Fringe” star John Noble has just signed on to join the cast of the show. Described as a major recurring role, Noble will appear later this season as Henry Parrish, a kind and reclusive man who possesses supernatural powers that have the potential to help the series’ protagonist, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison).

He joins previously announced new addition James Frain, who will guest star on multiple episodes as Rutledge, a modern-day nobleman who will interrogate Ichabod, who is being passed off as a “visiting Oxford professor,” about his past. What’s more, Rutledge harbors a secret that could affect Ichabod’s future.

“Sleepy Hollow” airs Monday nights at 9/8c on Fox.

In this modern-day twist on Washington Irving’s classic, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison; Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to find that the world is on the brink of destruction and he is humanity’s last hope, forcing him to team up with a contemporary police officer (Nicole Beharie; 42, Shame) to unravel a mystery that dates back to the founding fathers.

“Sleepy Hollow” is from K/O Paper Products in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series is co-created by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Phillip Iscove, and Len Wiseman (“Hawaii Five-0,” Underworld, Total Recall). The series is executive-produced by Kurtzman, Orci, Wiseman, and Heather Kadin. Iscove serves as supervising producer. Wiseman directed the pilot.

I’m giving this show a chance after that loopy pilot episode. With the addition of Noble to the cast this show just got 1000x better.

It was the loopiness that hooked me! If they can keep the energy level up and fulfill the promise of demons, witches, etc., I’ll be there for the long haul.
