When the Grimmfest 2013 lineup was announced, two slots were left open for “surprise” films, and now we know which pair of popular new movies will be making their Northern Premieres during the October event. Two more shorts have been added as well!
The first Grimmfest surprise is the latest in Don Mancini’s ever growing Child’s Play franchise, Curse of Chucky, screening as part of Preview Night on Wednesday 2nd October (9.30pm–11.00pm) at The Stockport Plaza.
Second is Christopher MacBride’s critically acclaimed thriller The Conspiracy, screening during the fest proper on the evening of Saturday 5th October (8.00pm–9.30pm) at The Dancehouse, Manchester.
Also added to the collection of fantastic short films appearing at Grimmfest are Irish director Sean Smith’s ‘Gaelic Gothic tribute to Nosferatu’ The Gloaming and Ben Godger’s Next Exit.
Grimmfest runs 3rd-6th October, four days of non-stop movie madness!
Now in its fifth year, Grimmfest has quickly become the premiere UK festival of genre film outside London. The Grimmfest team have scoured the globe at film markets from Hong Kong to Los Angeles to Cannes to find the most exciting new movies that will thrill, scare, and mess with your head. Highlights include lots of UK and regional movie premieres, special filmmaker and celebrity guests, and a handful of genre classics on display.
