While Christopher Nolan was filming the mega-budget movie The Dark Knight Rises in the Pittsburgh area, a smaller project entitled Kultur Shock was also in production just across town. Take a gander at some stills from this intriguing indie.
Directed by Todd Osleger, Kultur Shock was written and produced by Eric Paul Chapman and stars Maureen O’Malley, Terry McNavage and Chapman. The film is a locked-room mystery inspired by Rod Serling’s “The Twilight Zone” and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
Two men and a woman wake up prisoners in a strange, windowless room with crippling injuries and no memory of who they are or how they got there. Together, they struggle to tune out a slimy, incessant voice broadcast through an Uncle Sam doll bent on brainwashing them and piece together the startling truth of who they really are.
