The Hollywood Reporter
In 2006 Michael Bartlett co-wrote and co-directed The Zombie Diaries, and he’ll next be turning his attention away from the undead over to time travel, with a new film he wrote called Timeless. Read on for details!
Per The Hollywood Reporter, production company Boundless Pictures has optioned the Timeless script, which centers around a hitman who is addicted to a street drug that allows him to travel through time. Set in a futuristic London, the man works for a crime boss who makes him perform hits throughout time, hopeful that one day he will be able to right the wrong that haunts him: his inability to save the life of his first love.
According to Bartlett in an earlier exclusive interview with us, “Fans of films such as Jacob’s Ladder, Children of Men, and The Butterfly Effect will not be disappointed. Although time travel is normally associated with sci-fi, this is more of a human story about atoning for the sins of the past. It is deeply spiritual and philosophical.”
Sounds quite a bit like Looper, a film that I have no problem with other films aspiring to be. We’ll report more as we learn more!
