This writer is imploring you, our tightly-knit horror community, as we approach October – our month of months – to unite for a good cause: supporting Los Angeles women battling breast cancer by contributing to the Bowling for Boobies campaign.
For the past several years I’ve been involved directly with Bowling for Boobies (a non-profit fundraiser which provides monetary assistance to L.A. women who are experiencing financial challenges as the result of fighting and living with breast cancer). It’s been a vastly rewarding experience as donations go directly to individuals struggling with this deadly disease.
This year we’re at it again with the 9th Annual Bowling for Boobies, which culminates on Sunday, October 6th, in Los Angeles at Pinz Bowling in Studio City with a red carpet followed by an evening of knocking down some pins with The Horror Starlets 2013 bowling team, which is comprised this year of myself and returning actresses Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever), Brooke Lewis (Ms. Vampy), Carlee Baker (The Woman), Natalie Victoria (DeadHeads) and Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), along with new teammates Anne McDaniels (Poseidon Rex) and Arielle Brachfeld (Chemical Peel).
So, how can you help? A modest (and tax-deductible donation) would be most appreciated. Just visit The Horror Starlets donation page to help us reach our minimum goal of $9,000!
Writer’s Note: Thanks to John Michael Elfers, Christian Ackerman, Geza Decsy, Jon Tamkin, Erika Diehl and Dread Central for their support.
