The Crow Remake Heats Up with Tom Hiddleston in Talks to Portray Eric DravenRelativity Media has been circling around various actors over the past several months to portray the lead role in F. Javier Gutierrez’s remake of The Crow, and it looks like they’ve finally landed on one who’s ready to move forward.

Tom Hiddleston (Loki from The Avengers and Thor franchises) is in early discussions to play Eric Draven in the story based on the James O’Barr comic book series that was previously adapted as a 1994 Miramax movie starring Brandon Lee. In case you’re one of the ten people on the planet who haven’t seen the original, it follows a man who returns from beyond the grave to avenge his death.

Ed Pressman of Pressman Film and Kevin Misher of Misher Films are producing with Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and Jeff Most. Dan Farah of Farah Films will executive produce with Relativity’s Tucker Tooley.

According to The Wrap, Hiddleston recently had dinner with the producers and sent them a makeup test that he did on his own in London. He’ll undergo a proper makeup test in the coming days, and production is tentatively scheduled to begin this fall, though of course that could change depending on how quickly everything else comes together.

Have to say I’m not hating the choice – it definitely could work. Look for more soon.
