Hatchet III Exclusive: Never Before Seen Images of Kane Hodder Becoming Victor Crowley; Adam Green Speaks! Boston Fundraiser in the Works!Okay, Hatchet Army! This one’s for you! On tap now are some never before seen exclusive images of the legendary Kane Hodder becoming Victor Crowley and much more!

Uncle Creepy: What can you tell us about these photos?

Adam Green: One of the things we’re most excited about with HATCHET III is the Victor Crowley make-up job that Robert Pendergraft and his crew at Aunt Dolly’s Garage did on Kane Hodder this time around. Though the actual Crowley sculpture design is the same design that Greg Smith did for HATCHET II, this time out everything was made entirely from silicone as opposed to foam latex like the first two films. This gave Kane even more mobility and expression capability than he has ever had when performing as the character. While it was no easy feat to don the 50 pounds of silicone and carry out rigorous stunts in the sweltering Louisiana summer heat, Kane felt more comfortable in this make-up job than any he had ever performed in before, and it shows through in spades.

These exclusive behind the scenes photos were taken by our friend Dustin Pearlman, who worked on the first HATCHET film as our 2nd Assistant Camera. As anyone who has watched the extensive special features for the first two films knows, HATCHET is truly one big family, and the fact that both cast and crew from the earlier films always come by to help out just makes each production that much more special. From Dave Foy (“Chad” in HATCHET II) coming by the Los Angeles portion of the shoot just to help PA for fun to the fact that we promoted from within and gave BJ McDonnell (“A camera operator” on HATCHET and HATCHET II) his first shot at directing, we’ve managed to keep the same sense of camaraderie and fun that we started with when it was just Will, Sarah, Cory, and I trying to get the first movie off the ground in 2004/2005. [Will Barratt has served as the Director of Photography on all three HATCHET films, FROZEN, SPIRAL, and both seasons of “HOLLISTON” so far. Sarah Elbert has produced all three HATCHET films and both seasons of “HOLLISTON” so far. Cory Neal has produced all three HATCHET films, GRACE, FROZEN, SPIRAL, and both seasons of “HOLLISTON” so far.]

Speaking of HATCHET III, I’m extremely proud to say that we are working on a HATCHET fundraiser for the victims of last Monday’s Boston bombing tragedy along with our friends at Worcester’s Rock and Shock Horror/Music Convention. Details are still being ironed out, but we’re finalizing a Boston area marathon screening of all three HATCHET films with all proceeds going to help the victims in my hometown of Boston, MA. I’ll be showing my own private 35mm UK print of HATCHET 1, which is the un-cut version, only screened in a US theater one other time before. [HATCHET 1 was severely edited for its initial theatrical release after the MPAA slapped it with an NC-17 in 2007.] Then it is the un-rated and uncut HATCHET II and the first ever chance for anyone to see HATCHET III (uncut and unrated, of course). There will be many more details to announce about this event very soon, and I’m touched by how quickly Gina Migliozzi from Rock and Shock jumped into action to help me put this together. My heart aches for my friends and neighbors back home dealing with this tragedy, and I want to do whatever I can to help out – however big or small. The Boston Marathon’s starting line has been hosted in Hopkington, MA, since 1925, and that’s just one town over from where I grew up in Holliston, MA.

HATCHET III is set to open in New York City’s Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall on June 14th. Opening week will feature special appearances by cast and crew, followed by Q&A’s at each location. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.

Synopsis:
Danielle Harris and Kane Hodder return in HATCHET III and are joined by Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th 2009), Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) and others.

HATCHET III continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). As a search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces and carnage left behind from the first two films, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left the ghost of Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.

The sequel, which was filmed outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, from late May to mid-June, 2012, is a co-production of MPI/Dark Sky Films and Hatchet III writer/executive producer Adam Green’s Los Angeles-based ArieScope Pictures.
