Cameras are everywhere. Privacy as we once knew it is a thing of the past, and at any moment you could end up being the star of your own viral clip or… or well… horror movie. That being said, a new horror film that exploits these ideas is on its way in The Last Showing.
Screen Daily reports that the Philm Company has raised the funds for its next feature, The Last Showing. Producers Phil Hawkins and Alexandra Baranska are currently in discussions with sales agents in the UK and US and plan to take the film to Cannes. Baranska recently joined the company after working as a theatrical sales executive at 20th Century Fox UK.
The Last Showing was written by Hawkins, who will also direct, and centers on a recently demoted projectionist who traps a young couple inside a cinema with plans to use the CCTV cameras to create his own horror film.
The psychological horror/thriller is set to go into production in the summer. More as it comes.
