4Digital Media has acquired the UK and Ireland distribution rights to independent horror film The Amityville Asylum. Written, produced and directed by Welsh filmmaker Andrew Jones, the film focuses on Lisa Templeton, who begins a new job as a cleaner at a mental institution in Amityville.
The film is the third horror feature produced by UK based company North Bank Entertainment. The cast includes Eileen Daly (“Razor Blade Smile”), Lee Bane (“Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection”) and Sophia Del Pizzo (“Lovely Monster”). Robert Graham of Independent Moving Pictures served as Executive Producer. Andrew Jones of North Bank Entertainment and 4Digital Media’s Tony Taglienti made the deal.
Writer/Producer/Director Jones says: “We are delighted to be teaming up with 4Digital Media for the UK release of ‘The Amityville Asylum’. This is a psychological horror film with supernatural elements, demented characters and some bloody violence. So we have something in this movie for every kind of horror fan to enjoy!”
The Amityville Asylum will get a limited theatrical run in the UK later this year, followed by a DVD and Video on Demand release.
Lisa Templeton begins a new job as a cleaner at High Hopes Hospital, a mental institution in Amityville, Long Island. Initially delighted to get the job, Lisa soon realises that all is not as it seems. Intimidated by staff and the psychotic ramblings of the patients, she is further unnerved by apparent supernatural occurrences on the night shift. To preserve her sanity, Lisa must uncover the mysterious history of the institution and its inmates. But the truth is far more terrifying than she could ever imagine.
