Charles Band is back in the director’s chair and you’ll be shocked, SHOCKED, to find out the title character of Ooga Booga is a murderous action figure. But there’s a twist – this killer toy is on a mission of racial vengeance.
It’s the Django Unchained of Full Moon puppet movies!
Revenge is served on a spear when dirty cops brutally murder Devin, an innocent African-American med student. Devin’s soul is magically transferred into the body of an action figure named Ooga Booga. Armed only with his tribal weapon and the help of his old girlfriend, Donna, Ooga Booga takes to the streets and trailer parks to find the men who stole his bright future away from him. The bodies begin to pile up as Ooga Booga slices and dices his way through crooked cops, meth heads and demented city officials in order to clear his name. Racists, beware! You won’t even have enough time to scream, “Ooga Booga!”
Ooga Booga first graced the screen in Band’s Doll Graveyard. I guess it must have proved to be the most popular new puppet menace introduced by Full Moon of late to spin-off into its own film. Personally, I would have preferred seeing Gingerdead Man 2’s Haunted Dildo get its own film.
Stacy Keach, Karen Black, porn star Siri are the notable co-stars you’ll see be victimized by Ooga Booga starting March 26th when the film is officially released. I write “officially” because you won’t actually have to wait until then to see it. From March 12th until March 26th, Ooga Booga will be available for $1.99 rental/$7.99 purchase via Band’s new online streaming service GrindhouseFlix.
