Insidious to Send Screams Across the Country

Release plans for James Wan's Insidious were elaborated upon today, and Sony has confirmed that when the film debuts in April, it will open on 1,500-2,000 theaters across the country. Not too shabby!

With Insidious Wan reunites with Saw co-writer Leigh Whannell on the film, which follows a young family that makes the terrifying discovery that the body of their comatose boy has become a magnet for malevolent entities while his consciousness lies trapped in the dark and insidious realm known as The Further.

Look for Insidious (review here) in theatres on April 1st, 2011. And no, that's not an April Fool's joke!

Synopsis
"When proud parents take possession of an old house, an accident results in one of their sons falling into a coma. The tragedy doesn't stop there when they are beset by vengeful spirits from another realm in this new chiller by the director and writer of Saw and by the producers of Paranormal Activity. The film stars Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey and Patrick Wilson."

An original ghost story by talented horror film makers... I'm salivating.

I hope this gets as much coverage as the movies we all know will be crap do (i.e. Scream 4).

It isn't a sequel and it isn't a remake. Lets get behind this sort of thing.
