Dead Space 3 is set to haunt your nightmares on February 5, 2013 in North America. New details on the limited edition bundles and screenshots have arrived to get you ready for the blood-thirsty Necromorphs to come!

From the Press Release
Surviving violent, subzero conditions while fighting gigantic creatures, human enemies and blood-thirsty Necromorphs won’t be as easy as it sounds! Gamers can go it alone, or fortunately for fans everywhere, they will have the chance to face these terrors with a friend when Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts studio launches Dead Space 3 in North America on February 5, 2013 (8 February 2013 in Europe). From the lonely depths of space, to a graveyard of derelict spaceships, to a frozen planet with brutal conditions, Dead Space 3 takes action and terror to incredible new heights. In Dead Space 3, the fate of mankind rests in the hands of engineer Isaac Clarke and his new merciless co-op partner, John Carver. Survival is more difficult than ever before, but Visceral Games announced today that fans who pre-order the Dead Space 3 Limited Edition at participating retailers will have the advantage of using two bonus* suits and weapons, right when they start the game.

The Dead Space 3 Limited Edition provides gamers with first access to two game bundles: “First Contact” and “Witness the Truth” – each of which contains an advanced suit and devastating new weapon. These hand-crafted weapon combinations act as initial blueprints for the millions of permutations players will be able to create using the all-new weapon crafting system in the game.

“First Contact” Bundle

  • First Contact Suit: This unique EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity) suit was built by the SCAF (Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces) for encounters with “foreign entities.” It sports a flamboyant golden finish to provide protection from long-term space exposure and thick armor for… unspecified reasons. The suit was given the nickname “First Contact” by the scientists who made it.
  • Negotiator Weapon: While technically classified by the SCAF as a “scientific instrument,” the gold-plated “Negotiator” is loaded with some surprisingly aggressive hardware. The overclocked, top-mounted Tesla Beam is capable of bursting a man-sized organism into several pieces with a single shot. The bottom-mounted Linegun appears to have been built with the sole purpose of cleanly dismembering organic tissue from a distance.
  • ”Witness the Truth” Bundle

  • Witness Suit: These insulated suits were worn by a SCAF deep dig team assigned to exhume the darkest secrets of Tau Volantis. Whatever they found locked deep in the ice changed them forever. When they emerged weeks later, they were covered head to toe in strange graffiti and claimed to be “Witnesses to the Truth.”
  • Evangelizer Weapon: A modification of the standard AL-2 used by the Sovereign Colonies Legionaries, this version sports a souped-up AL-2g assault rifle on the top with an Emerson 2100 “Big Boy” tactical shotgun on the bottom. The surviving “Witnesses” of the SCAF deep dig team dubbed it the Evangelizer and decorated them top to bottom with strange symbols.
  • Winner of more than 15 critic awards at E3 2012 including Best of Show from Game Informer Magazine (third largest consumer magazine in the U.S.**), Dead Space 3 cuts to the heart of deep space terror. The game is recognized by game critics worldwide for its incredible craftsmanship in horror, action, suspense and sound design. Players will embark on a thrilling ride through space that takes them to a hostile new planet, Tau Volantis. Fortunately, they are not alone this time around. The fully integrated drop-in/drop-out co-op feature gives players the option to play alone or team-up with a friend anytime. Players that choose to take down the terror together will experience additional story details, side missions and gameplay mechanics only found when playing as John Carver.

Dead Space 3 is being developed for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and on PC. This product has not yet been rated by ESRB or PEGI.

Netflix’s The Cloverfield Paradox Scored 2.8 Million Viewers in First Three Days

    Published

    on

A few weeks back we brought you a news story in which Netflix shelled out a whopping $50 million for the streaming rights to The Cloverfield Paradox.

If you are like me, then you’ve been wondering how that investment is paying out for the streaming giant in the wake of the resounding “thud” the film made after it hit late on Super Bowl Sunday.

Well, it seems the movie did pretty good… but nothing special (which is the general consensus to the film itself) and scored 2.8 million viewers in the first 3 days of release.

These numbers come to us from Variety, who reports that, while 2.8 million is no small number, when compared to the 11 million viewers that David Ayers’ Bright starring Will Smith pulled in late last year, The Cloverfield Paradox pales in comparison. But is it fair to compare The Cloverfield Paradox to Bright? Shrugs.

What do you think? Let us know below!

The film is directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung and stars David Oyelowo, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl, and Chris O’Dowd.

The film is now streaming on Netflix.

    Synopsis:

Astronauts must fight for their lives after making a terrifying discovery in outer space.

Toy Fair 2018: Funko’s Savage World Turns Horror Icons Into Masters of the Universe Characters

    Published

    on

    Overview

What would happen if classic horror icons existed within the world of the Masters of the Universe franchise? That’s a question Funko have answered with their new ‘Savage World’ line of action figures, which depicts horror characters including Leatherface, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Pinhead as they would look had they been birthed into the world of Castle Grayskull alongside He-Man and Skeletor. Funko have given us some pretty weird shit over the years, but this is on a whole other level.

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting, Preternia, Popvinyls.com, and the Twitter account @FakeEyes22, we are able to share some images of these testosterone-fueled slasher figures, which were on display at the New York Toy Fair. There’s currently no word on when these musclebound monstrosities will be hitting stores, but I’m willing to bet that one look at the gallery below will instantly have you counting your change.

Death Confirmed to Be Part of Bill & Ted 3

    Published

    on

Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal introduced the world to a version of death that has since become iconic. A dark force, the Grim Reaper is willing to give people a chance to reclaim their souls should they best it in a game. While this incarnation is truly magnificent, I believe that many people will recognize the parody version that William Sadler brought to life in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the 1991 sequel that saw Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves’ characters die and face the awkward spirit.

Nearly three decades later, fans of the Bill & Ted series are awaiting a third film, which has been known to be in the works for quite a while. Dubbed Bill & Ted Face the Music, it’s been written by Ed Solomon (Men in Black), who recently took to Twitter to confirm that the scythe-wielding ghoul is in the film and that he hopes William Sadler reprises the role! Solomon is also the man responsible for writing the first two films as well as the animated series “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures” and the 1991 video game Bill & Ted’s Excellent Video Game Adventure.

At this point, it’s all just speculation as to if a third film will ever be made. However, nearly every single party involved is ready to make this a reality, so all it needs is a studio to pony up the money!
