Fox Eying Kyle Chandler for Terra Nova Lead

Fox Eying Kyle Chandler for Terra Nova LeadA short while back we told you about "Terra Nova", a new dino-centric TV show on the way from Fox produced by Steven Spielberg, and now it looks like the network may have found its leading man for the series.

Per EW's Ausiello Files "Friday Night Lights" star Kyle Chandler has been made what one source describes as a "very lucrative offer" to headline "Terra Nova", Fox’s big budget pilot from producer Steven Spielberg and Peter Chernin. Additionally, Ausiello states that Brannon Braga ("24", "FlashForward") has been brought in to serve as executive producer/showrunner on the project, which centers on a futuristic family that travels back to a time when dinosaurs roamed free ... A 13-episode pickup is a foregone conclusion at this point.

As mentioned in our previous story, the script for "Terra Nova" was co-written by Craig Silverstein and British scribe Kelly Marcel from an idea of Marcel's. Marcel had been shopping the project to Brit TV buyers when Aaron Kaplan, the former WMA TV chief turned manager-producer, got wind of the idea and convinced her to bring "Terra Nova" across the pond. Kaplan then recruited Silverstein, a former client of his, to partner with Marcel. Fox and CBS made big plays for the project when it was shopped to domestic nets last summer.

We're just happy to hear things are proceeding so well for "Terra Nova"; landing an actor of Chandler's caliber definitely bodes well for the project.
