Exclusive: More Night of the Living Dead: Origins Images

More exclusive artwork has come our way for Zebediah de Soto's upcoming 3D animated feature film Night of the Living Dead: Origins, and like everything else we've seen from this project, things are lookin' pretty damned cool.

"I wanted to make this look like a living Monet; it's expressionism," de Soto said in an earlier interview. "It's going to be the first zombie movie played on a epic scale. This is the 'Empire of the Sun' of zombie films ... I lived through the L.A. riots and saw the city on fire; I remember seeing people running, people getting pulled out of cars. And with 9/11, these images have been ingrained on people of my generation. I just thought that is the way it would really be, a lot of chaos."

Director de Soto, who also pulls co-writing duties on the project, describes NOTLD: Origins, which will be in 3D, as "a living painting" and promises "no one has ever seen anything like this on the big screen."

Lending their likenesses and voices to the project, which showcases a zombie apocalypse in New York City, are Tony Todd as Ben, Danielle Harris as Barbra, Joe Pilato as Harry Cooper, Alona Tal (Jo on "Supernatural") as Helen Cooper, Bill Moseley as Johnny (reprising his portrayal of the same character in Tom Savini's 1990 NOTLD remake), Erin Braswell as Judy, Mike Diskint as Tom, Jesse Corti ("Heroes") as a news reporter, and Cornell Womack (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) as a no-nonsense New York cop.

Check out the exclusive artwork below. Strap in, kids. We have a strong feeling this is going to be something really fuckin' good!

I'm confused. You're calling me a nazi for not being impressed by stills from a movie that's just a glorified fan film being looked at as the second coming of the horror genre for no reason whatsoever?

Man, you're definitely a director.

Blah blah, regardless in the end the premise doesn't make sense. If it started out in the country how the fuck are we going to see it in the city? And how in the hell is Ben going to fight zombies in the city if his story started in the cafe and ended at the damn farm house?

I feel like Kathy Bates in Misery.

He didn't get out of the cockadoody car!!!

And I never knew directors talked like AICN fanboys with the whole "I'm mentally masturbating to The Walking Dead" and "Making zombie movies is like marrying your stepsister" or whatever the fuck you went on about. I know in your mind it probably sounds like some clever crap Jim Morrison would spout, but give me a break, your film looks more like a video game and less like The Walking Dead.

Justify it all you want, if this movie is stupidity incarnate, I intend to call it such.

And on the flipside if this movie is great, I'll gladly say it is so.

But the spin doctoring isn't working on this here movie geek. The stills have yet to convince me this movie is worth investing time in and your sheer lack of maturity and professionalism has helped to convince me that this is merely a cheap fanboy flick for a cash grab and nothing more.

Prove me wrong. I challenge you.

What is it with directors? Why can't you just say that you're going to try and bring us the best interpretation of "Night" as you can, why do you have to go on about how you're re-inventing the wheel and redefining the zombie sub-genre? I mean cut the crap for a second.

And please, I beg you: Spare me the garbage about how you're restarting the genre or expanded the mythos, blah blah. Your movie is glorified fan fiction. Just make the movie and sell it as it should be sold.

Quit man-struating.

Watch the movie and then judge.

You walked into this with the notion of what it would be as opposed what it could be.

I am at the advantage because I already know what "IT" is.

And in regards to "the premise doesn't make sense. If it started out in the country how the fuck are we going to see it in the city?"

Your lack of imagination makes my eyes rain.

Awesome Misery reference though!

You dirty birdy!

"Manstruating"? That was a good one even if it derailed a proper response from you. But you see you're still just throwing zing words at me and not properly addressing the issues with this project, nor are you really coming off as someone with a firm hold on this movie.

Trust me, I'll see it and judge.

I know what I it is and I know what it could be. I hope it's not what it is and I hope it ends up being what it could be.

"I am at the advantage because I already know what "IT" is."

I beg to differ. You say "re-inventing the wheel," I say "glorified fan fiction." What "It" is is subjective.

"Your lack of imagination makes my eyes rain."

Am I in a fucking Tarantino movie or something? Dude, seriously stow the jive talk and address the actual arguments. I expressed a plethora of concerns and you did very little to appease my worries.

Believe me, I am open to having my mind changed and blown, you've yet to accomplish either, I'm afraid. Here's hoping your movie speaks for itself and not some screen captures on a new website insisting it's going to rock while the director comes aboard and say "Yes, it's true! It will rock!" *Sigh*

JIVE Talk?

You sir are a Racist!

Its too close to thanksgiving to be talkin no jive turkey.

YEEEEAH!

So you would say you have a

pleth-o-ra

of concerns?

To address your Pleth-o-ra of concerns:

I changed the shooting locations of the original "Night" to bigger locations so we could have more Zombies.

in regards to:

"Your lack of imagination makes my eyes rain."
Am I in a fucking Tarantino movie or something?

No. your in Ben Stiller movie and you Mah-Mah-Make me happy!

In regards to:

My "sheer lack of maturity and professionalism"

What am I your fucking Doctor? Turn your head to the left and cough.

If you had read at least one interview you would see that I

1)just wanted to show the parts of the original movie that were described.

2) Put the movie in a place where I could logically have a shit ton more of Zombies.

And your still a poo-poo brain

Oh man, I look forward to your movie, because your clear utter lack of knowledge in dealing with concerned movie fans is mind-blowing. You sound like a person whose had wind blown up his ass too many times. You could work for Platinum Dunes.

Thanks for avoiding everything I explained in my arguments in exchange for more self-aware monologues and deflecting. Worthless.

Here's a thought: maybe try responding to people's worries in a logical, sophisticated manner. Instead, all you're doing is coming off as a completely immature jackass, and I'd REALLY hate to be near you if this movie gets negative reviews.

Also, if I have to read "I am mentally masturbating to The Walking Dead" again, which is the most fucking retarded thing I've ever heard, I'm gonna scream and jam a pencil into my eye.

That being said, the visual style for this does look kinda interesting, and I'll withhold judgment when/if I see it.

I am mentally masturbating to the "Walking dead" as my office sways.
The earth quaked like a chicken fucker in a hen house. Everyone there could feel it. I just took my hot wife to the door way and walked away. My hot wife asked me where are you going.
I said to finish my comment on dreadcentral and to grab my booze and cigarettes.

Business is business.

Good...Bad... Im the guy with the booze and stogies.

Making a Zombie film is like someone getting married to their step sister.

Its just really fuckin awkward.

Cartoony I think would be more half-life/ scanner darkly.

If one was to look at the footage one would probably say:

"Oh, its a painting that moves. Awesome".

One would also probably say:

"Thats too much blood...too much killing......why'd they have to put it in a city when they could have scaled it down to a small house. If Romero had had the opportunity to film the original in New York city he would have flat out turned it down. Stupid big zombie films"

I'm not impressed so far. I thought this all started in the country where Ben's story began, and then worked its way in to the city?

Stupid zombie film trying to be in a CITY rather than the COUNTRYSIDE. No one would ever want see that crap. I hate when diehard zombie fans go and make Zombie films that try and raise the bar for next guy who tries to make a zombie film.

Im so mad Im gonna go punch my wife because she's in striking distance.
