Lionsgate Remaking Saw?Even though Lionsgate was adamant about it, we knew that “final” Saw movie wasn’t going to be the last by any stretch of the imagination. Jigsaw makes too much cash at the box office to just let him go. This, however? We just don’t know.

Bloody Disgusting reports that Lionsgate is tinkering with the idea of rebooting the Saw franchise although an eighth film isn’t out of the cards. It should also be noted that nothing is official, and nothing has been decided. Things are at the infant stage at this time, but rest assured Jigsaw will return.

So what do you guys want? A remake/reboot? Another sequel? Or should well enough just be left alone? Sound off below!

  1. this time make the killer a millionaire so he can afford all those death traps and warehouse rentals and actually pay people to spend time constructing them.

  2. I rather see a SAW VIII than a reboot. The thing I like about the series unlike a lot of other genre franchises is that it’s one continuously evolving (and retconning) storyline. They could go the direction of Carey Elwes vs Costas Mandylor in a Jigsaw protégée slugmatch (which would be interesting), but beyond that…not much direction they could continue the current storyline.

  3. I never got past the pure idiocy of #3. Remaking the first movie is beyond lazy. It means we have a studio that’s feeding on itself like a deranged cannibal.

If this happens it means LG has the worst producers on the entire planet.

  4. Being that I despised most of the SAW movies, I’d prefer a reboot over another sequel. But I’d just prefer they let it die.

  5. I really hope this is a joke. The original Saw isnt even ten years old yet. And I really was creeped out by the first one and I still find it to be a great horror film. I feel Saw 7 was awesome and really ended the series perfectly. I wouldnt mind a Saw 8. Maybe it could be about Dr Gordon starting a whole new game. And as I recall when I watched a video interview with Leigh Whannel and James Wan a few months back. They said they were definately going to do another one. They said itd be awhile though. Anyway remaking the first Saw is just stupid, and I really hope Lionsgate doesnt go that way.
